There is just something so magical about summer, childhood and the longest day of the year! It speaks to me of freedom, like floating weightless in a pool. I used to imagine that I could actually breath underwater, wishing I never had to come up for air.
I think Henry Wadsworth Longfellow felt the same way when he wrote:
"Then followed that beautiful season...Summer...Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape, Lay as if newly created in all the freshness of childhood."
Happy Summer everyone! I hope it's filled with carefree beach days, lounging by the pool, a great summer novel (impossible to put down), playing outside until after sunset and Popsicles every afternoon!
