This weekend we visited the aquarium and I stood for quite a few minutes watching these fish. They would swim as a group close to the glass and then circle around the tank; over and over in a clump. A group of individuals using a single brain to navigate their environment. For the month of October, I dedicated my mornings to meditation and I believe it's helping me live a more individualized life; to break from the mass consciousness. To think for myself, swimming against the stream of popular thought to do what's right for me. To ask myself the hard questions, waiting and listening for the answers.
Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment."
"If you don't control your mind, someone else will." ~ John Allston
