There are a lot of things we take for granted in our lives. Most of them are simple things a lot of us do every day. This year, 2011, was a tremendous year for my Dad. For years he endured knee pain. It was crippling. This year he finally decided to release the pain and underwent three major replacement surgeries, two knees and a hip. His recovery has been tremendous. Before the surgeries, he struggled to walk down the big hill from my home to the beach. It was very painful for him and scary for us. We didn't want him to fall. This Sunday, I got an amazing gift. I walked with my Dad down the big hill. We all walked together as a family and it was wonderful! After watching my dad, I give great thanks for our mobility and these beautiful bodies that carry us from place to place every day. I love you Dad and Merry, Merry Christmas!
