"May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be." St. Therese of Liaieux
What feeds your soul? A simple question that doesn't always seem so easy to answer. I mean, really, if we all knew and acted on the answer to that questions there would be no war. We would all be happy, contented, fulfilled people. Maybe we know what feeds our soul but don't always do it. I know that can be the case for me. Some how carpools, grocery lists and a seemingly endless "to-do" list get in the way of time to just be, create and nurture my soul.
So this week, when a friend said, "Hey...low tide today. You should meet us down at the tide pools." I didn't hesitate. I got Mari dressed in her wet suit, packed a little snack, grabbed my camera and a lens I rarely use and took off for the beach. There is just something about low tide on a warm winter day and play time with friends that feeds my soul.
As I reflected on the images captured and my joy in creating them, I realized it was my true self getting a little play time. I was creating the photos I love to create. I was allowing moments to unfold with grace and easy. Yes, I was allowing, not forcing or worrying or entertaining or posing, but rather simply surrendering to the life unfolding before me and being present enough to notice. In that moment, I decided I want to do more of this and an intention was born.
